WPML is a commercial plugin by OnTheGoSystems that turns a WordPress site into a multilingual one: it translates pages, posts, menus, strings and WooCommerce products, adds language switchers and hreflang tags, and connects to translation services.
Because WPML is paid and needs setup, the 643,767 websites running it are businesses that publish in several languages on purpose: hotels and tourism companies, exporters and manufacturers, consulting firms, real estate agencies and cross-border online stores, strongest in multilingual countries such as Switzerland, Belgium, Spain and Canada.
