Terms of Service

Effective date: October 8, 2026

Welcome to BetaScan (betascan.com, the "Service"), a technology-intelligence platform operated by CodeRockers LTD ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Cyprus (European Union). The Service detects the technologies used by websites and provides lists of websites per technology, datasets with publicly available contact and domain data, single-domain lookups and an API. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "your") and CodeRockers LTD. By creating an account, using the API or downloading data you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. The Service is intended for business use. If you use it on behalf of a company or another entity, you represent that you are authorised to bind that entity, and "you" includes the entity.

An account is created with an email address (sign-in by one-time code) or a Google account. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and your API token. Keep the token secret, keep your contact email accurate, and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use. One person may hold one account; accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred.

2. What the Service provides

The Service is built on our own crawl of the public web: we visit the publicly accessible homepage of registered domains, record what is served to a normal visitor, and match it against technology signatures. From that we derive, for every technology we track:

Domain, DNS and contact data are provided by NetAPI (netapi.com), a service of the same company.

3. Plans, technology slots, credits

Paid plans are monthly subscriptions. Each plan includes a number of technology slots (currently 1, 3 or 5). You choose the technologies that fill your slots; full lists, new / dropped lists and datasets are available only for the technologies in your slots. A filled slot can be changed once every 30 days. Custom plans with other limits may be agreed in writing.

Each plan includes a monthly allowance of lookup credits for the API. One lookup of one domain costs one credit, whether the domain is answered from our database or fetched live. Unused credits expire at the end of each calendar month and do not carry over. A lookup that returns no result because the website did not answer is not charged.

A free account gives samples of lists (currently 50 rows) and a monthly allowance of API lookups (currently 100). Lookups on the website need no account and are rate-limited. We may change the free allowances at any time.

Downloads are produced as files. A file is generated in the background after your request and stays available for 30 days, after which it is deleted. There is no limit on the number of rows in a list, but we may limit the number of files generated per day to keep the Service responsive for everyone.

4. Billing, renewal, cancellation

Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card details. Subscriptions renew automatically every month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in your dashboard or by contacting us; cancellation stops future renewals and your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Prices are stated in US dollars and may change; a price change applies to your subscription from the next renewal after we have notified you by email or in the dashboard. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. If a payment fails, the plan reverts to the free account after the paid period until payment is made.

5. Licence to use the data

Subject to these Terms and an active plan where required, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the lists, datasets, lookup results and API responses (the "Data") for your own internal business purposes, including sales prospecting, marketing, market research and analytics, and to load the Data into your own CRM, outreach and analytics tools.

You may not:

Combining the Data with your own data for your own use is allowed. Aggregated statistics you derive (for example market-share figures) are yours.

6. Acceptable use of contact data

Email addresses and telephone numbers in the datasets are collected from the websites that publish them, and typically belong to businesses. You are solely responsible for how you contact anyone. You must comply with the laws that apply to you and to the recipients, including the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules in the European Union and the United Kingdom, CAN-SPAM in the United States, CASL in Canada and similar laws elsewhere, and with the rules of any email or messaging provider you use. In particular you must have a lawful basis for each message, identify yourself truthfully, honour opt-outs without delay, and never use the Data for unlawful, deceptive, harassing or discriminatory purposes. We may suspend or terminate accounts that cause complaints, blacklistings or legal claims.

7. API

The API is documented at betascan.com/api/. Use your token only from systems you control. We may apply rate limits (currently about 10 requests per second) and change endpoints with reasonable notice; we try to keep existing responses backward compatible. Automated use that degrades the Service for others may be throttled or blocked.

8. Accuracy of the Data

Technology detection is automated and based on signatures matched against a website's homepage and its response headers at the time of our visit. It can miss technologies, report technologies that are no longer used, or misidentify a technology. Counts, "new" and "dropped" signals depend on when we last visited each website and on the website being reachable by our crawler. Contact details are reproduced as published and may be outdated or belong to someone else. The Data is provided "as is" and for informational purposes; it is not advice, and inclusion of a domain in a list is not a statement about the people or the company behind it. We do not guarantee that any list is complete, current or error-free.

9. Removal requests

If you operate a website and do not want its contact details or technology profile to appear in the Service, or you are a person whose details appear in the Data, write to us at the address in section 16. We remove contact details on request and honour robots.txt directives of websites. See also our Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, design, technology signatures, databases, statistics and documentation are the property of CodeRockers LTD and its licensors and are protected by the laws of Cyprus, the European Union and international treaties. Technology names and logos shown on the Service belong to their respective owners and are used to identify the technologies only; no affiliation or endorsement is implied. Except for the licence in section 5, nothing in these Terms transfers any rights to you.

11. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We continuously change the technologies we track, the signatures, the data fields and the features, and we may discontinue parts of the Service. We may update these Terms; the current version is always at betascan.com/tos/ with its effective date. Material changes are announced by email or a notice in the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your use harms the Service or third parties, if required by law, or if a payment is overdue. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. On termination your licence to use the Data ends, except for Data lawfully loaded into your own systems before termination, which you may keep using under section 5 and 6. Sections 5, 6, 8, 10, 13, 14 and 15 survive termination.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service and the Data are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeRockers LTD and its directors, employees and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to the Service or the Data, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for all claims in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, or EUR 100 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Indemnification and governing law

You will indemnify and hold harmless CodeRockers LTD from claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Data or the Service in breach of these Terms or of applicable law, including any claim by a recipient of your communications.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. Any dispute that cannot be settled amicably is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cyprus, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply to you.
