MailChimp is an email marketing platform owned by Intuit: mailing lists, automated campaigns, landing pages and segmentation, with a no-cost plan for small audiences and paid plans priced by contact count.
Mailchimp is the default newsletter tool of small businesses in North America, Europe and Australia: local shops and restaurants, nonprofits, consultants, bloggers, schools and small online stores. A Mailchimp signup form on one of the 586,015 websites tells you the business collects email addresses and sends regular mailings, but does not by itself prove a marketing budget.
The list is bought by vendors of CRM, e-commerce and marketing tools that integrate with or replace Mailchimp, by agencies offering newsletter and content services, by print and promotional companies, and by payment, booking and review tools aimed at the same small-business audience.
